New Specialist Joining our Dental Practice
Dr. Thomson is a San Diego native and obtained her Endodontic specialty training at the University of Southern California, where she held the title of Chief Resident. Dr. Thomson obtained her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the UCLA School of Dentistry, with special recognition in restorative dentistry. She then went on to complete a Hospital Based General Practice Residency at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Long Beach, California. Shortly after, she returned back to San Diego and practiced as a general dentist, providing comprehensive dental care to our community for over eight years.
Dr. Thomson is a third generation San Diegan with heavy ties to the community. She grew up in Bonita and attended the University of California San Diego where she obtained her Bachelors in Biochemistry and Masters in Chemistry. Her time spent at UCSD has given her a broad breadth of experiences, including time at two of our most distinguished research institutions: Salk Institute and Scripps Institution of Oceanography.
Dr. Thomson resides in La Jolla with her husband and two children. She enjoys participating in many outdoor activities including water sports, hiking, cycling, and coaching her sons in soccer.
Dr. Thomson is actively participating in post graduate courses and continues to be adjunctive faculty in Endodontics at USC School of Dentistry and USC continuing education courses. In addition, she has been a lecturer at USC to the pre-doctoral students in Endodontics. Dr. Thomson is a member of the American Association of Endodontics, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and San Diego County Dental Society. Currently, Dr. Thomson continues to participate in research at USC and is scheduled to present her work for publication this spring
